About Us
Kara and Tom Taddeo, hospitality experts with over 30 years’ combined experience, have managed successful restaurants and event spaces in Charlotte for over a decade. Since moving their young family from New York City in 2010, Tom and Kara fell in love with Charlotte and haven’t looked back.
Inspired by beer gardens just emerging on the scene in NYC, Tom and Kara set out to capture that welcoming, family-friendly-yet-cool vibe here in the Queen City, and thus, in 2011, VBGB Beer Hall & Garden was born.
VBGB quickly became a favorite gathering spot where friends, coworkers and families relax and enjoy craft beer and fantastic food in a communal setting. Over the past decade, VBGB has earned numerous local and national accolades and awards from Best New Bar to Top 10 Best Beer Gardens in the U.S. VBGB has been featured in numerous TV shows such as Drinking Made Easy and My Big Fat Fabulous Life; as well have hosted multiple parties for individuals and entities such as the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, the cast of Homeland, and so many more.
Responding to increasing demand for large, private gatherings and events, in 2015 Kara and Tom launched 820 Pizzeria, Karaoke Bar & Events, adjacent to VBGB.
Big and bold, 820 provided a fresh, new entertainment destination. A unique, 5-in-1 concept, 820 featured expanded, adaptable event space, a full-service pizzeria, a completely soundproof karaoke lounge, a hidden speakeasy, and a vintage arcade. Combined with the casual, confident and customer-centric ethos VBGB clients have come to know and love, 820 was welcomed by clients and event planners as a beloved member of the VBGB family.
Kara and Tom are now thrilled to announce that 820 is being relaunched as The Hamilton EventSpaces. Focused on delivering intimate, unique, turnkey events – including a private area exclusively for your own Karaoke Party replete with scratch cooking and fully furnished spaces – The Hamilton is here to help the Charlotte community celebrate milestones and create memories.

- Pull into any parking space within the Music Factory with a QR code
- Follow the directions on the parking sign, all the way. Enter your credit card information and hit Submit.
- To validate, click on the link at the bottom of the text sent to you by Parking.com. Scan the QR code inside VBGB/The Hamilton to validate.
